5 Places To Be In Montenegro

Stagaway team is very proud to inform you that from this season we extended our activity to the Montenegro. That’s why we decided to choose for you 5 places to be in Montenegro. Hope you will enjoy!

BEACH

Hawaii beach Budva
Hawaii beach BudvaConsidering the fact that Montenegrin coast offers a wild range of beautiful beaches first you have to pick an area within you are looking for a beach after your own heart.
This time I pick Budva and its biggest excursion attraction – The Island of Sveti Nikola.
The island of Sveti Nikola is the largest in the southern part of the Adriatic Sea. The coasts of the islands descend vertically into the sea, and there are several small hidden bays – a challenge for specialists, adventurers and romantics. On the island, there are three sandy beaches with a total length of 840m. Beaches on the island of St. Nicholas, popular Hawaii, are one of the most beautiful natural bathing areas on the Montenegrin coast.
A special attraction are the mouflons that inhabit the most humble part of the island as well as deer, who live here in the natural reserve.

LAUNCH BAR

Yacht Club Pool, Porto Montenegro
Yacht Club PoolFor those who didn’t know, Porto Montenegro is one of the leading Mediterranean luxury yacht homeport and marina village. Following the example of the world’s major ports, this complex offers luxurious accommodation, numerous restaurants and bars as well as nightclubs and even one gallery.
But it’s star attraction is definitely infinity pool with views of the marina, mountains and the Boka Bay. Featuring cutting-edge design from UK architect Richard Hywel Evans, facilities at the pool include day beds, loungers, cabanas with shower and changing rooms, as well as full bar facilities and the Yacht Club Restaurant.
If the food for you soul is quiet and smooth hedonistic experience, this is definitely your place to be.

BEACH BAR

Mr. Stefan Braun
On the other hand, if you are seeking for a crowded bar on a beach with loud music and contagiously crazy atmosphere, we kindly recommend you Mr. Stefan Braun.
Mr. Stefan Braun is for more than 10 years one of the hottest location of Belgrade’s nightlife and since 2015 this club very successfully satisfies the appetites of its customers in Montenegro as well. Located in Budva, on Slovenska beach, Mr. Stefan Braun beach bar offers the best daily parties and what is more important – the best summer memories.

RESTAURANT

Ćatovića mlini
Catovica mliniI admit that choosing only one restaurant has been always difficult for me. However, some places simply deserve to be given a priority because of their reputation, long tradition and high standards. Ćatovića mlini is this kind of place and it is undoubtedly worth visiting.
It is located in the small town called Morinh, half way between Kotor and Herceg Novi, in Boka Kotorska. This spot boasts a charming location in an old water mill, it is surrounded by nature, greenery and running water.
On their website, it says that in Ćatovića mlini time goes by as it suites you. I can not think of anything that defines this place that precisely, and not just this place but the idea of a perfect holiday in general.

NIGHTCLUB

Top Hill
NIGHTCLUB Top HillWhen it comes to clubs the situation is very clear. Launched in 2010 in the hills high above Budva town centre, Top Hill for more than 5 years in a row very convincingly masters the night life of Montenegro.
Fascinating and distinct interior, capacity for up to 5000 people, VIP area and excellent and carefully planned music programme make this colossal indoor-outdoor space one of the most attractive clubs in the whole region.

Where to go in Belgrade at night?

If you are coming to Belgrade and you are a lazy reader, it s fine, most of us are in general.

We travel a lot and we know how it is to visit a new place not knowing where to start, what to see, where to go.

It is the same with the places you have already visited, when you end up wondering what you missed the first time, what else to see…

So we compiled here all our TOP things to do in Belgrade and divided them in sections.

What to do in Belgrade at night?

Belgrade at night is a city of vivid and bright colours and it has been recognized as the capital of Europe for nightlife scene by many magazines, web pages and travel sites.

When looking for fun, you can choose among several different neighbourhoods, streets and districts of Belgrade. So, we will try to give you an idea where to go depending on the style in which you like to spend your night.

Obilicev Venac , Knez Mihailova Street and Republic Square – this is the very heart of the city and it will be the easiest to find. Many tourists stop at this one, which we find a mistake, not because it is a bad choice, but because there is so much more to see. Obilicev venac is a passage just beside Knez Mihailova Street –the main pedestrian area, and it is filled with bars and restaurants on both sides of the street. It is a very popular destination, especially in summer when the whole passage is filled with cafe gardens, chairs and people.

Republic Square is a main meeting point of Belgraders. One of the hotspots there these days is an all-glass two-storey cafe-restaurant named `Butik`. A little further down towards Kalemegdan Fortress at the end of Knez Mihailova Street there is a bar with sometimes live performances of jazz musicians called “Muha”, as well as various places in the small streets around Knez Mihailova, like`Pevac`, `Amelie` and `Supermarket`, which are all great bars worth seeing and having a drink.

Skadarlija- the bohemian quarter

Skadarlija is definitely a must-see, one of the oldest streets in Belgrade, back in old days a very popular place of gathering of intellectual elite, poets and writers. Past is everywhere in this area- in the old buildings, artists on the streets, street performers… This area has a bunch of restaurants along the way from both sides of the street, some of them being very old and famous. Gipsy music, and traditional Serbian music are played on every corner of this famous Belgrade street and in every single restaurant in this wonderful traditional part of Belgrade.

Savamala

Savamala is one of the most popular places recently and it was pronounced one of Europe`s most interesting neighborhoods by the Guardian. Besides the Guardian you can read about this area on CNN and in the Wall Street journal. It all started when artists started moving into the old and uninhabited but historical and beautiful buildings. Later on, clubs with all different styles of urban sounds opened, and now this area offers a mix of underground Belgrade clubbing scene and some of the most popular bars and clubs in town like `Brankow` and `Mladost`. There is also a great club here playing electronic music called`Tranzit`. Savamala is located south of the fortress of Kalemegdan, close to the river.

Silicon Valley

Silicon Valley or Strahinica Bana Street got its nickname as a parody of Silicon Valley in the States, but here it refers to some other kind of silicon -you can take a lucky guess, but we can give you a tip: think boobs :D.

In the past a place of gathering of a big number of girls who had a plastic surgery, this street still remains very popular part of Belgrade nightlife scene with a bunch of bars along the way, some with live bands, most popular being ` Supermarket`, `Jimmy Woo` and `Insomnia`.

Ada Lake

Lake Ada is close to the center of Belgrade and it is an interesting spot to see when in Belgrade by night.
It has two sides and “Makis“ side is definitely the more crowded one and the right one to visit at night.
The most popular bars definitely are `Sunset`,` Red Shoes`, and `Vanilla`, which all have live performances mainly at weekends. Ada Lake is a popular destination for parties but mostly when there is nice weather outside, during the spring and summer, while in winter it can get pretty empty.

Savska bb Street

This is basically the bank of the river Sava on the New Belgrade side opposite Old Town. Along the whole bank there are floating clubs, which are world- famous and there is plenty of them, too. Some play folk music, but most of them are now playing all different styles of popular electronic sounds. The most popular ones are `Shake` n `Shake`,` Freestyler`,` Sindikat`,`20/44` … For the majority of them you need reservations, which our Stagaway team can easily arrange for you. These clubs are operating just in summer and they are closing their doors usually in October and opening in mid -May. These places are unique and truly represent Belgrade nightlife. So, if you plan to party in Belgrade you should definitely check them out.

Watch out for classic tourist frauds in Belgrade

Belgrade thief’s are one of the finest in the branch, the good ones are all gone abroad and they operate mostly in Germany Austria and western European countries but the one’s who stayed also know what they are doing so be aware especially when in public transportation or paying a bill in a crowded places.

Pick pocketing is normal for all European capitals and Belgrade is not an excuse.

Some of the exchange offices will give you a wrong transaction rates so be cautious.

We kindly suggest that you double check the points on zeros when changing money and check for a course on this web site or Google before you change money to Dinars.

Average value of 100 euro is around 12 000 Dinars at the moment.

We got plenty of reports about taxi frauds in Belgrade, we kindly suggest that you use our transfer services, if not it is best for you in our opinion to pre arrange price of the driving because they can easily tune the taximeter price, we don’t suggest that you get in any fights with taxi drivers, and if they rip you off they will likely get off with it. When you do take a taxi the only safe way is to call for one over your phone first, directly to their station and please remember the taxi number they tell you over the phone so you know that is the right one when it arrives.

In Belgrade there are various taxi companies and some of them are illegal. Legal ones are the ones with TX letters on their car plates.

If using public transportation you should buy so called “Bus plus” ticket in almost any small shop and just use it on the bus, tram and trolleybus. You can also purchase a whole day ticket.
